this came for me in the mail two days ago.
now there's a story behind this.
16 years ago, when i first started scrapbooking, i attended a scrapbook convention in Sacramento, hosted by Vicki Breslin and Lindsay Ostrom. Lindsay had the coolest lettering i'd ever seen. so of course, i bought her books over the years -- ABC's of Creative Lettering, LMNOP, and then XYZ. (i'm not sure where they are. hoping i didn't lose them in the move.) let's just say i was a huge fan of Lindsay's books.
fast forward a few years and i started writing. i gave up the scrapbooking. i thought writing was easier. (ha!). fast forward a few more years, to a couple of months ago, and i started doing paper arts again. and that led me to look up doodling on the web. and that led me to Lindsay's blog. which then led me to Lindsay's newest book, Scribbles. she graciously signed my copy.
but that wasn't the best part.
i can't tell you how thrilled i was to see my name written by my favorite lettering guru of all time. i don't usually save envelopes, but i'm going to frame this one.
